Scarlett Johansson, American actress (born on November 22nd, 1985 in New York City New York) has received acclaim for her acting abilities across genres ranging from period dramas to thrillers to action-packed films. Johansson was born in New York City, and was raised by an architect father and producer mother. Hunter and her twin brother, and she were both the youngest out of four kids. She developed an interest in acting at an early age auditioning for commercials by age seven. She enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute shortly after, and later attended the Professional Children's School, Manhattan to further her education. Her debut came as a film actress in North (1994) aged nine. At eight, she starred alongside Ethan Hawke on Off-Broadway in Sophistry. Johansson was later seen on screen in Just Cause, but she first made an appearance in Manny & Lo, a film that follows orphaned siblings as they escape. The Horse Whisperer (2000) where she was the role of a teenage girl who has a deformity because of an accident earned an acclaim from critics. After that, in Ghost World 2001 (as the cynical teenage outcast Rebecca), Johansson gained even more recognition. Besides appearing on the series she is also an accomplished stage actor. She has given a variety of spectacular performances, including Wildflower. Renee Felice Smith entered the world of entertainment as a child. When she was a kid Smith began to take an interest in acting. Smith was offered the first of her acting gigs at the tender age of 6. She created a commercial with Dannon. As many new actresses have done, she decided to further develop her talent in theatre. She would work in different USA productions while getting her stage debut in the company of Wildflower. She graduated from the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
